Egg Binding … is when your bird has difficulty laying its eggs which is more common in smaller birds (no mate required). This is an emergency. If you can not reach your vet, try to raise the heat and moisture level of the room and create a stress free environment. If you try and help and the egg breaks inside of your bird, it could create an even more life-threatening situation.  The cause of egg binding can be genetic, due to an all seed diet without enough calcium, Vitamin A and protein, lack of exercise, too cool in the house, excessive egg laying and malformed eggs.
